With passion, an exceptional understanding of art, and a fine sense of style and the finer things in life, the woman has created four hotels that exemplify the highest hospitality in a rather unique way. They are four completely different hotels in completely different places, but always fuelled by the same idea of the very highest quality. The Viennese boutique hotel “Das Tyrol”, for example, which is as intimate as it is exclusively furnished, is ideally located between the MuseumsQuartier, Naschmarkt and the city’s hippest new galleries and stores. Here, city travellers are treated to a quite splendid breakfast before immersing themselves in the pulsating rhythm of the big city. “The city has such diverse pleasures and such wonderful restaurants to offer – why should I try to keep my guests in?,” says Helena Ramsbacher. At the “Knappenhof”, high above Reichenau an der Rax, in a wildly romantic mountain setting, it’s quite different. The historical house, from which Sigmund Freud, the absolute crème of modern intellectual life, descended to the ‘Sommerfrische’, pampers today with completely delicious, freshly interpreted Austrian cuisine – just the thing to enjoy after long walks and hard work. After hiking excursions, deliciously exhausted, sinking into the luxurious beds and enjoying the mountain air and silence of this marvellous place, is wonderful. A completely different kind of luxury is presented by “Schloss Seefels”, for many the most beautiful and prestigious historic house on Lake Wörthersee, with its majestic backdrop, the sovereignly elegant suites, and the unbeatable view of the southern shore of the lake and the Karawanken mountains with their alpine pastures and peaks rising up behind it. CHEERFUL RELAXED CHARM Finally, the “Hotel Lemongarden” on the island of Brač is a chapter all its own anyway.
