dreams / SCHLOSS SEEFELS

dreams / SCHLOSS SEEFELS Pleasure on the Lake. The “Porto Bello” is the hotspot on the shore of the Wörthersee for everyone who likes delicious Alpe-Adria cuisine and cool drinks. < lake. In the restaurant the colours of bordeaux, chamois, pink and terracotta and the lighting concept of Christian Ploderer create an atmosphere of sublime elegance. Here you can enjoy the unique Alpe-Adria cuisine from the certified chef Richard Hessl which was rated in the Falstaff Guide with 95 points or four forks. Do you need another superlative? The wine climate room is not only a gem but also houses 700 bottles of red wine, white wine and champagne. THE PORTO BELLO AND LOUNGE With its maritime and Mediterranean character and its light and airy white wooden architecture in pavilion style and with its own marina for both motor and sailing boats, the “Porto Bello” is a southern box seat directly on the water and a style hotspot on the Wörthersee. “This is the most beautiful place on the lake with a light and airy atmosphere, an avant-garde cool ambience and classically creative Alpe-Adria cuisine with homemade pasta, freshly caught Wörthersee fish and first-class Valentino ice cream from the Gelateria,” enthuses chef Richard Hessl. Carinthia is interpreted in a modern way here. From the interior to the kitchen the colours pay homage to Carinthia’s national colours which are yellow, red and white. Polished mirrors bring the lake into the pavilion, so much floats and flows. Koi on the curtains and staff aprons, perch on the tiles and menus. A fish scale mosaic and lantern lamps floating above make the bar the centerpiece of the space. And a box seat with a lake view is assured. The summery light dishes are served on, and match, the fine bone china from Taitù. Daisies grow on plates, chillies stand in bowls, tulips bloom in cups. Cutlery, bread bowls and champagne coolers gleam golden, the Murano Glass water glasses perfectly match the cast stone tables with incorporated Murano Glass particles, a special production and again proof of the distinctive character of the entire hotel. UDO JÜRGENS ON THE PIANO Merci, chérie! Udo Jürgens once played the piano in the legendary oval Schlossbar, and the legendary Wörthersee clientele with many prominent regular guests has always distinguished the bar. Walnut, marble, mirrors, gold leaf ornaments, an Empire style tiled stove and a magnificent baroque chandelier give the bar sophistication and elegance. To this day the venue is a real bar icon with exquisite champagnes, and stylish or classic cocktails, and a grandiose whisky selection with more than 60 varieties of bourbon, scotch and Irish whiskey. Brand new is the range of chocolates to match the whiskies from the Carinthian chocolate manufacturer Craigher. The atmosphere is so beautiful, the mood vibrant and the selection of champagnes, cocktails and spirits exquisite. Cocktails are a passion of bar manager MY HOTEL “SCHLOSS SEEFELS”-TIP FLORIAN SCHEICHENBAUER, Resident Manager. The blue hour at the lake. It means pure magic and without hocus-pocus, but with lots of magic light. The exciting thing is that the Wörthersee doesn’t even have to try hard to please. Its colour from emerald green to turquoise to azure blue, its sky reflections, and its energy giving tranquility speak for themselves. One of my favorite spots is on the new balcony of the lakeside restaurant the “Porto Bello” with an unobstructed view over the water. Here you can press the reset button for your own personal break. As an aperitif a wonderfully fresh Carinthian Bärmut (vermouth) in a little glass, on the plate a Wörthersee fish with Lavanttal asparagus, and later on the best Bellini as a digestif with fresh white peaches. What more does the heart want? Christoph Turian. Bellini, Fraisini, Testarossa or bottle-aged Negroni are the most popular. A real hit is the signature drink of deputy bar manager Daniel Dukic, the homemade vermouth rosé. Speaking of colour, an absolute eye-catcher in the house is the Pink Birkin Salon which is an ideal spot for private parties and celebrations. HOSTESS BY GRADES Many of Helena Ramsbacher’s special ideas permeate the interior and, of course, the entire art collection. The feeling that one is a guest here in the very private retreat of the lady of the house connects almost perfectly with the amenities of the house. From the spa to the culinary arts, from the lovingly selected programs and activities on the lake and in the surrounding area. And then there’s the outdoor cigar lounge with lake views. Style is really everywhere at Hotel “Schloss Seefels”. < Legendary. Udo Jürgens wasn’t the only regular at what is perhaps Austria’s most beautiful bar. The ambience and drinks are (almost) unbeatable, for example the vermouth rosé. 57
