dreams / PORTRAIT Cult bar on the mountain. For hostess Helena Ramsbacher, bar culture also plays a major role – just like here at the “Knappenhof”. Cult bar by the sea. Sunsets on the bay accompanied by great cocktails. Sundowners and more at the bar in the “Lemongarden”. > terranean retreat full of surreal paradisiacal, cheerfully relaxed charm. The Carinthian-born Ramsbacher was born with a flair for the hotel business. Her father was a “pioneer, a parade hotelier” on the Katschberg. “I practically grew up in the guest room, was communicative and liked to design,” says Helena Ramsbacher. Over time, the passionate hostess has mastered these qualities. Each of her hotels is unique, with its own personality and unmistakable style. size – the incomparable atmosphere, the design and the well thought-out furnishings always bear the unmistakable hallmark of Helena Ramsbacher. Helena Ramsbacher’s signature. This makes each in its uniqueness a precious hideaway for Individualists, a refuge away from mass tourism and a place where you can feel the love and wealth of knowledge with which they were shaped – from the small detail to the great works of art. “Actually, all four hotels are extended living rooms,” says Helena Ramsbacher. “If you will, we share our homes with guests and friends.” In fact, Ramsbacher lives in each, often in the hotel “Das Tyrol” in Vienna, but over the course of the year she also spends two months in the “Lemongarden” on Brač – and repeatedly on Lake Wörthersee. “This makes our houses the absolute opposite of huge hotel complexes,” says Helena Ramsbacher. “I put a lot of emphasis on personality and attention to detail.” THE HOTEL STAFF At least as important to her as the location and the furnishings of the hotels is that treasure that can only exist through personal dedication and compassion – real love, in fact: the people who make sure every day that time spent in these beautiful places is indeed wonderful. “Passion is everything,” says Ramsbacher, or almost everything. Because this passion must also be transferred to the employees, otherwise the best hotel is just a beautiful, but also empty shell. “The employees are as important to me as the guests,” Ramsbacher says. “Without a happy team that lives the atmosphere and can convey it authentically, we’re only half the hotel. All the luxury is of no use there.” That’s why she clearly relies on personalities who enjoy doing the job. “It’s about giving the guest the feeling that they are the most important person. And not an act: Everything has to come from the heart.” To achieve this, Helena Ramsbacher is prepared to offer genuine partnership and togetherness – in good times as well as in less good times. “If employees have a problem or even find themselves in need, we are always happy to help. It’s a give and take: If you are there for the guests with dedication when the hotel is full, then of course you can count on us. That’s a very serious concern for me.” This passion for her hotels and the people she works with to make them shine and sparkle transfers quite beautifully to Helena Ramsbacher’s guests. But you may have noticed that, too, if you’re holding this magazine in your hands. < Cult bar by the lake. Udo Jürgens was not the only regular at the legendary bar in “Schloss Seefels”. It is and remains the most beautiful on the lake. 11
