Each editor, and their respective tasting teams, are internationally recognised specialists for their regions. Where tastings by more than one taster are presented in the same feature, the taster’s initials are shown. We regret that import taxes and excise duties of specific countries cannot be reflected here, nonetheless the categories should still provide a useful guideline about a wine’s retail price. Angelika Ahrens is an Austrian journalist and foreign correspondent who lives in New York. Lily Cook feels most at home in her kitchen where she composes her Jottings. Roland Graf’s standard description of his profession is “drinking and writing about it.” Othmar Kiem is Falstaff’s chief wine editor for Italy. He writes about Chianti Classico and the wine route between Florence & Siena. Katherine Knowles is a long-term Manhattan resident who loves nothing more than sniffing out new restaurants. Malu Lambert is a Cape Town-based food and wine writer who explores South Africa’s single vineyards. Robin Lee writes about the rarified world of Harry’s Bar in Venice. Susan Low is a UK-based food writer and editor who takes us on a culinary journey to Peru. Hans Mahr is our peripatetic restaurant obsessive, addicted to ordering everything on the menu. Sarah Marshall is a seasoned globetrotter and travel writer who dives headfirst into Morocco’s sensuous delights. Peter Moser, Falstaff’s chief wine editor for Austria and Bordeaux, rates the 2019 Bordeaux vintage and tastes Grüner Veltliner. Julia Nittmann is a Vienna-based nutritional psychologist who examines exotic flavours in this issue. Ned Palmer is an renowned cheese author He unearths all you need to know about goat’s cheese. Peter Pharos moonlights as a wine writer and is the mystery man behind our Lighthouse column. Rex Pickett is the author of Sideways which was turned into a movie of the same name. He writes a regular column. Gabriel Stone is a wine writer, entertainer, and kitchen whizz who sharpens her pen on the subject of kitchen knives for us.
